June 2020 Update3 min read

What a June this has been.

I’ve been putting off posting something like this. With the current crisis still ongoing many businesses are still struggling, and unfortunately, people are losing their jobs. This is something we never want to see and as a team, we’ll do our best to support anyone who needs our help in getting connected to the right people to find new employment.

Luckily for Digital Gearbox, we’ve not been too badly hit by the economic downturn. Whilst we’ve unfortunately had clients had to pause or reduce activity over the last few months, we’ve also had clients ramp their activity up and a number of new partners come on board. Where there is so much negative news out there at the moment, it feels a little uneasy to step out and share some more positive news without fear of causing upset. But we really wanted to take the opportunity to celebrate the good things happening in our own and our client’s businesses at the moment, not to brag but to show it’s not all doom and gloom, and to potentially help others realise there are still good opportunities out there at the moment to grow.

So that’s what we’re going to do.

June 2020 has been our greatest month since the formation of our agency. Our team have been working some wonders with our clients and many are also experiencing record-shattering months with their respective KPIs.

Some examples:

  • 97 conversions – most conversions in any single month. (avg was 70 in a month)
  • Cost/conversion of £17 (avg was £27)
  • £3,600 revenue in a month (previous best was £1,200)
  • ROAS of 8.18 (previous best was 5.62)
  • Record low cost/conversion of £17 (previous best was £40)

And we know we can do better still!

Our marketing pushes have never been great as we enjoy a constant stream of strong referrals from our wonderful clients and partners. Having said that our new podcast, PPC Burrito, has opened a new world of connections for us and we’re already starting to see some of those connections bear fruit.

On the business development side of things we’ve refined our already strong process and are creating new partnerships on a weekly basis.

Through this crisis, our attitude has never changed. We help first and foremost. We operate with complete transparency and raw honesty. We have encouraged businesses to keep pushing forward where possible, and those who were able to do so are enjoying the benefits of stronger sales, or a fuller pipeline as we return to normality.

Without my team, this just wouldn’t be possible. Jonny and Isabella have been stellar in their roles of delivering consistently great results for our clients. Whilst Michael has been super busy making managing all the marketing and business development efforts mentioned above happen, successfully “zooming” his way through most of Q2!

As I said at the start of this update, I wasn’t sure if sharing this was the right thing to do given the current climate, and my offer of help to anyone in need is genuine.

But sometimes we have to think about ourselves and blow our own trumpets. We rarely do this, but a record-breaking month are a good exception in my opinion.

I took over Digital Gearbox just over 3 years ago, and in that time the growth and confidence of the agency has been amazing to behold. I’m proud of my agency and my incredible team.

Here’s to July and keeping the momentum going!
